How to Bring Pets to Singapore

Singapore is a country well-known for having very strict rules pet importation. There will be quarantine imposed on your pet when entering Singapore unless entering from a country that Singapore considers as rabies-free.

First you need to consider that there are pets not allowed to enter Singapore such as:

DOGS:

  • Pit Bull, including:
    • American Pit Bull Terrier (also known as American Pit Bull and Pit Bull Terrier)
    • American Staffordshire Terrier
    • Staffordshire Bull Terrier
    • American Bulldog
    • Crosses between them and other breeds
  • Akita
  • Boerboe
  • Dogo Argentino
  • Fila Brasileiro
  • Neapolitan Mastiff
  • Tosa
  • Perro De Presa Canario
  • Crosses of any of the above breeds

CATS:

  • 1st to 4th generation Bengal or Savannah cat crosses. (Before you import, you are required to produce documentary proof that your Bengal cat cross is at least a 5th generation cross from the ancestral stock of Prionailurus bengalensis; Savannah cat cross is at least a 5th generation cross from the ancestral stock of Leptailurus serval)

Check if your pet is allowed at residential places in Singapore:

What you’ll need to move your dog or cat to Singapore.

  1. Import permit
  2. Quarantine reservations – the required minimum is 10 days
  3. ISO-compliant microchip
  4. Rabies vaccinations
  5. Rabies antibody test
  6. Valid annual vaccinations at least 14 days old but not more than 1 year old
  7. Deworming and anti-flea and tick treatments shortly before travel
  8. International health certificate – this requires a physical exam by an accredited or USDA vet
  9. Singapore-specific health certificate
  10. USDA endorsement
